In response to the growing hostility, Keith stood up and positioned himself between Hannah and the others. “If you have a problem with her, come to me. Let’s settle this outside,” he challenged.
They only ever acted all high and mighty towards Hannah. When Keith spoke up, they all clammed up real quick.

The doctor glanced up at Hannah after taking a look around.
The bystanders were all too eager to see Hannah squirm. They didn’t give a hoot about the person lying injured on the ground; they just wanted to stir up trouble for Hannah.
“Yeah, it was her! We tried to stop her, but she was dead set on doing it. Look what a mess she’s made!”
The doctor straightened up, adjusting his glasses. He flashed a smile at Hannah and quipped, “Are you studying medicine too, or what?”
Hannah wasn’t keen on blowing her cover just yet. She simply nodded and replied, “I’ve been teaching clinical stuff in Cadilind for a few years. I’ve picked up a thing or two.”
“You handled it real smooth. Without you, he might not have held on this long.”
No one had seen this coming; the doctor’s sudden change of heart, even tossing some praise Hannah’s way. The troublemakers from before switched gears too.

Losing that much blood is serious business. She handled it like a champ. Without her, he might have kicked the bucket.”
It wasn’t until Raul caught sight of the doctor that he bolted upstairs, shivering.
As he reached the door, he caught the doctor’s final words, about Bagot nearly biting the dust.
